My name is August I use they/them pronouns, I'm 14 years old and I'd like to make a difference.

I'm autistic, I have AFRID, irlens syndrome, suffer from panic attacks and anxiety, eds and others.

I'd like to find teens who are also 'diffrent' so I can share my story.

Hiya 👋🏼 Let's have a yarn about ARFID. Avoidant Restricted Food Intake Disorder  Afrid is an eating disorder I've been struggling from my entire life and most likely will have for my entire life. Unlike eating disorders that are comely represented in media and are easyer to find help with, afrid isn't about body image issues or numbers. Hiya 👋🏽 Let's have a yarn about autistic burnout Autistic burnout is something that really need to be talked about so let's spread some awareness So one year ago I couldn't leave the house, I couldn't go to school, have freinds over and barely eat. This was all caused by autistic burnout.  Burnout is caused by doing too much and not allowing yourself to rest or be 'autistic'  What I mean by that is masking, basically unconsciously pretending to be alistic. Things that are considered masking:  Forcing yourself to make eye contact Not allowing yourself to stim Avoiding talking about things your passionate about to seem less 'weird' Forcing yourself to eat things you don't want to Ignoring your sensory issues And lots of other things Burnout can last days, weeks, months or even years. Hiya👋🏽 Let's have a yarn about school attendance I'm going to start off by saying I've berly been at school, my whole schooling journey I've rarely gone for a week straight. I've always battled with 'school refusal' I'm not a big fan of this term, it makes me feel as if it's something I do on purpose instead of the school system failing to accommodate for me.  With year 9 now behind me although I feel extremely proud of myself, I still have an awful voice saying I didn't really do that great. It dose make me rather sad that even at a school that cares about my needs and dose there best to accommodate for me, I still didn't have very good attendance. Things that stop me from going can include but not limited to:  anxiety, I simply can't go, a dreadful stomach ache worried about the many possibilities that could unfold.
