AFRIDπŸ›πŸ§ΌπŸ›πŸ§ΌπŸ›πŸ§Ό

Hiya πŸ‘‹πŸΌ
Let's have a yarn about ARFID.

Avoidant Restricted Food Intake Disorder

Afrid is an eating disorder I've been struggling from my entire life and most likely will have for my entire life. Unlike eating disorders that are comely represented in media and are easyer to find help with, afrid isn't about body image issues or numbers. Someone with afrid is often discribed as a 'picky eater' or they 'eat like a toddler' I find phrases like these belittling and upsetting.

Afrid is comely associateed with autism, sensory processing disorder and ADHD. For people who don't know what it's like, image that one food that you just can't eat, you think it's disgusting; that's what %95 of food is like to me. It makes me extremely anxious going to places I know I have to eat such as school or a friends house. Family meals are the worst, everyone elses plates are stacked high with beautiful looking food they can't wait to dig into then theres mine, some potato salad with limited spring onions in the corner of my plate, I probably won't even eat it all. Comments will be made about the amount and what I eat on a daily basis as well as how I look too thin and need to eat more. Many days I go without eating much at all, I find that I look and feel healthyer on the weekend but loose all the nutrition during the school week when I can't eat the food there. Unfortunately there are very few organisations with information about this life controlling disorder, not even the butterfly foundation. I incorige you to educate yourself more on ARFID.

Let me know in the comments how you are doing today, id love to hear, Have a lovely day!
